7. What are your visa options?

Option 1. Visa exemption

If foreigners from 25 countries are on the Vietnam Visa-Free List and just visit Vietnam for short-term business purposes, then you don’t need to apply for a business visa.

Option 2. E-Visa

From 15 August 2023, if foreigners from all countries in the world visit Vietnam for short-term business purposes, then an E-Visa will be a better choice. The visa process is easy, fast, and can be conducted 100% online by you. It offers a stay duration of 90 days, with multiple entries. However, the e-visa can’t be extended.

Option 3. Traditional Business Visa

Foreign investors must first enter Vietnam on a business visa sponsored by the company that they invest in. When foreign investors are in Vietnam, the company will apply to convert the business visa to a long-term Temporary Residence Card. Tourist visas and e-visas can’t be converted to a TRC.

In an exceptional case, if a foreigner stays in Vietnam on a visa or a TRC sponsored by another company, the new company may apply to convert his current visa/TRC to a new TRC without having the foreigner exit Vietnam and enter on a Business Visa sponsored by the new company
